We're glad you found us! Currently we're working on getting a new site together, but in the meantime we would love to tell you more about who we are, what we believe, and what we're doing. Read on...
Gateway Community Church, now moving to West Chester Academy of Music and Dance, originally began meeting at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy in January of 2009. We think of ourselves as "a small church...with BIG ideas." We believe when people follow Christ with all of their heart, they will be transformed into the most authentically loving people on the planet. We believe that God has made it possible to live lives of incredible adventure and that no one should have to tolerate dysfunction, addiction, mediocrity or even boredom! Jesus said, "I came so you can have real and eternal life, more and better life than you ever dreamed of."
The way we discover this kind of life is simple:
Loving God: Jesus said the greatest commandment is "to love God with all your heart, mind and spirit." We encourage this in two ways - by 1) creating uplifting worship, and 2) through Biblical, expository teaching. God has said that "those who seek Him will find Him if they seek Him with all their heart" - this doesn't require a priest or a seminary degree. He always accepts sincere worship and grants wisdom to anyone who earnestly desires to understand His word.
Loving Others: We believe that committing and obligating yourself to a community of faith is necessary in order to become a mature follower of Christ. Jesus created the church as the means for establishing His Kingdom - a better understanding of how to live and do life - here on earth. We encourage this kind of community through Life Groups - bi-monthly small groups that meet in homes to fellowship, discuss scripture, pray, have fun and serve others together.
Serving the World: Jesus said, "If you want to save your life, you will to lose it." This means that if we attempt to make our lives about our own happiness, comfort and desires - we will become unhappy and be left feeling empty. On the other hand, if we seek to bring happiness and comfort to others - especially the poor - we will find a life that is truly more abundant and fulfilling than we could have ever dreamed! Currently, we are personally involved and committed to two ministries that foster this: Central Assembly of God in Djibo, Burkina Faso (Africa) and Central Assembly of God in Over the Rhine (Cincinnati).
